Abruzzo
La Quagliera Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Prisca Montani runs a small olive oil production on her little estate "Azienda Agricola La Quagliera". The estate sits on the beautiful hills surrounding the city of Spoltore, in the region of Abruzzo, close to the Adriatic Sea and facing the impressive Majella and Gran Sasso Mountains.

La Quagliera extra virgin olive oil is obtained by blending two olive varieties Dritta and Leccino, both local and typical of the Abruzzo region. As a result, the solid straight forward taste of Leccino is rounded by the gentler, more fruity taste of the Dritta variety.

Given the limited amount of olive trees, our producer Prisca can afford the greatest attention to the growth and health of every single tree. During the harvest, the olives are picked manually and placed in large bins to decant and pressed in the family mill within 24 hours from harvesting.

The latest harvest 2008/2009 has just become available at Gustiamo.com.
