Pianogrillo Extra Virgin Olive Oil Soap
Lorenzo Piccione's family has been making olive oil soap for generations on their farm in the Monte Iblei Mountains in Eastern Sicily. He recalls the whole family huddled around the copper cauldrons where the oil was boiled with baking soda and water. Today the same copper cauldrons are used. Pianogrillo olive oil soap is delicately scented by the organic Pianogrillo olive oil and enhanced with aloe leaves grown on the farm.
Most people are aware of the culinary applications of olive oil, far fewer know of the anti-oxidant qualities of olive oil soap and it's ability to moisturize and renew skin. There is even speculation that it may also reduce the incidence of skin cancer which occurs at a rather low rate in the Mediterranean region.
